This course is perfect if you love the world of travel, organising and promoting events, a passion for customer service and enjoy making people happy.

You’ll learn about the hospitality and tourism industry and the skills required to succeed in it. You’ll cover areas such as customer service, planning visits, UK travel and tourism, local geography, and preparing and serving food in preparation for employment.

You can expect lots of subject variety, visits to give you first-hand experience of the industry, and to complete a range of practical/written assessments and presentations.

The qualification supports progression to further learning and training. All learners taking this qualification will study core units that focus on key transferable skills such as research and planning, time management and working with others.

Learners will also take a number of sector units. The content of the sector units offers a broad introduction to the skills and knowledge within that sector, allowing the delivery to be practical and active in order to engage the learners. For hospitality and tourism, the units cover topics and activities such as preparing and cooking food and contributing to running hospitality and tourism events.

By completing the qualification in Hospitality and Tourism, learners are able to progress further in the sector and look forward to future employment in the hospitality and tourism industry.
